Starting from 3 December, more than 850 lots will be on display at Blindarte exhibition halls and which will be auctioned in 4 sections: Ancient and 19th-20th century paintings (Sunday, 11 Dec.); Furniture, China, Silverware and Art Objects (Monday, 12 Dec.); Important Jewels and Watches (Monday, 12 Dec.); Modern and Contemporary Art (Saturday, 17 Dec.)


About 350 lots concern contemporary art, from Futurism to present days, among which it is worth mentioning Latitudinal Distortion, 2007, by Marc Quinn (oil on canvas, 170x233cm, estimated value Euro 110000-160000) and Molène, 1964, by Geoges Mathieu (oil on canvas, 81×146, estimated value Euro 100000-150000), belonging to a private Neapolitan collection. In addition to a refined 1967 oil on sanded canvas, Ragazza con yo-yo by Franco Gentilini (estimated value Euro 45000-65000), there are important works by Zoran Music (a Paysage Italien, oil on canvas, about 40x46cm dated 1974), by Bruno Cassinari (remarkable 1961 oil on canvas titled Ricordo dell’autostrada, displayed at the Quadriennal of Rome in 1961), by André Masson (a rare 1948 pastel titled La Maison), by Corneille (a published mixed technique on paper dated 1949) and by Leoncillo (an unpublished portrait in ceramics of the art critic and historian Palma Bucarelli). Also: a large photograph by Vik Muniz, Still life after Zurbarán (estimated value Euro 22000-28000), the intense paper Tre righe di sangue dated 1971 by Antoni Tàpies (estimated value Euro 20000-30000) and an important colour pastel work by Francesco Clemente dated 2001, Offerta di melograni al Tempio della Campanella, published on the front page of “Il Mattino” newspaper in 2002, during his prestigious personal exhibition at the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, estimated value Euro 30000-40000. The same section presents works by Carlo Alfano and Renato Barisani and other important Neapolitan artists. Besides the leading representatives of Italian art of the latest 50 years like Mario Schifano (several works in auction, among which Acerbo, a large 1982 painting, estimated value Euro 30000-40000), Giulio Turcato, Valerio Adami, Emilio Scanavino, Antonio Corpora, Afro, Alighiero Boetti, Sandro Chia, Luigi Mainolfi, there is also a large number of works by worldwide known artists such as Maurizio Cattelan, David LaChappelle (portrait of Marylin Manson), Gregory Crewdson, Sislej Xhafa, Ryan Mendoza, John Bock, Gregor Schneider, Hermann Nitsch, Eva Marisaldi, Mario Airò (author of the installation Koan made of a projector, slide, balsa, timer and light bulb, estimated value Euro 6000-8000), Kcho, Youssef Nabil, but also rare works by the most important and late worldwide known artists such as Marcel Duchamp (in auction a rare Rotorelief published by Arturo Schwarz, estimated value Euro 10000-15000), Man Ray (a collage and a light-and-shades drawing estimated value Euro 18000-25000), Ray Johnson and many other remarkable works that turn Blindarte’s December auction into an appointment that cannot be missed for the lovers not only of modern and contemporary art market, but also of the latests history of art.
